YOUR DEFECTS An empty mirror and your worst destructive habits, when they are held up to each other, that's when the real making begins. That's what art and crafting are. A tailor needs a torn garment to practice his expertise. The trunks of trees must be cut and cut again so they can be used for fine carpentry. Your doctor must have a broken leg to doctor. Your defects are the ways that glory gets manifested. ~ Rumi ~ |
| Our Days in Paradise What if the rays of sun came forth To give us paradise But since we are so busy We missed its early rise. What if the rainbow is a covenant Which gives way for us to dream. Not knowing this has kept us From achieving greater things. What if we are much more than ought to And think that we’re half instead Could it be that live is truly precious And have failed to embrace? We spend our days filled with hate And yet we are amazed To see our world spiraling down Covered in its haze. The game of lust we play with ease Not knowing what we do But yet we find no way to stop The madness that this gives. We neglect to see the joy That love can surely bring And spend our days in paradise Not knowing what we feel. Entire lives are left behind Without the joyful sound Of having loved and knowing well That this is what we are. Go deep inside your covered walls And brake the walls you’ve built And find the peace that’s in your heart Waiting to be freed. Life is a gift that must be shared And given as it comes Free and boundless as the stars That guide us from above. @Copy Rights Material Rina A González 8/24/04 |
| Violet Pretty flower that adorns With your essence all my being Don’t give of yourself to those Who don’t understand the meaning. You are the magical one You are the gift of this my garden. You are the essence of love That transforms my soul to gladness. You know what each day will bring As the sun comes from the east Touching each one of your petals As they open and receive. Don’t give of your energy To those that don’t see your worth. Remember that you are free As the air that you breathe. Free you are and free you’ll be Till the end of time itself. So grow beautiful and wise O, Violet of my embrace. For in time you will give the world The blessings that you posses. But for now, rejoice my soul In the garden that awaits. @Copy Righted Material Rina A González 8/23/82 Translated 10/26/02 |
| “I AM DIVINE” In the quiet moments of the morning When I rise and greed the day anew I contemplate my life in solemn prayer And give thanks for all, the old and new. Into the heart, the road that holds all memories That holds the imprints of moments long ago, I see myself as fresh as dew from heaven Pristine at last I am to love and mold. And so this morning as I gaze at life unfolding I thank God for each moment that I’ve lived For now I know that in this present moment I am Divine my Lord, and always will. @Copyrighted & Published Material Rina A González Orlando, FL June 8, 2005 |
